Spotify has launched a new feature allowing users to completely disable all video content within its app, offering greater control over their listening experience. The update applies to both music and podcasts across all platforms and devices.
The new controls are rolling out worldwide, work across all platforms and devices, and can be used by managers of Family Plans to limit video content for every member on the subscription.
The settings, which will appear under "Content and display" on mobile devices and "Display" on desktop, provide a single toggle to prevent videos from playing automatically. This addresses user feedback about unwanted visual content interrupting audio-only listening sessions.
Family Plan administrators can now enforce these video restrictions across all accounts under their subscription, giving parents and account managers more control over content accessibility. The feature represents Spotify's ongoing effort to balance its expanding multimedia offerings with user preferences for simpler, distraction-free audio experiences.
