Stagecoach Festival Halts After High Winds, Returns 'Back in the Saddle'

Stagecoach Festival in Indio, California, faced an unexpected interruption on Saturday night (April 25) when strong winds forced a temporary evacuation of the Empire Polo Club. The gusts became so intense that food vendors closed early, and performers were rushed offstage before organizers paused the event and displayed an emergency message on screens: "The festival has been postponed until further notice. Please move quickly and calmly to the nearest exit."

Attendees were directed toward parking lots and shuttle services, but within about an hour, the festival resumed operations. Organizers announced the revised schedule via notification: "We're back in the saddle," extending the evening until 1 a.m. (previously 11:55 p.m.) and pushing headliner Lainey Wilson's set to 10:30 p.m.

However, the weather disruption had lasting effects on the lineup. Scheduled performances by Journey and Riley Green were canceled entirely. Despite the setback, the festival continued with other acts, including Post Malone and Cody Johnson, who were set to headline alongside Wilson.

The Stagecoach Festival, a major country music event, demonstrated resilience in the face of natural elements, but the loss of two high-profile sets left some fans disappointed. As one attendee noted, "The wind was relentless, but I'm glad they got things going again."
