SpaceX has launched the Starlink V5 dish, the latest iteration of its residential satellite internet receiver, now available in select regions. The new dish is significantly smaller and lighter than its predecessor, the V4, and boasts improved energy efficiency. As production scales up, SpaceX plans to expand availability globally.
The V5 is not designed for in-motion use; that capability remains exclusive to the revamped Starlink Mini, which was teased alongside the V5.
For existing Starlink users considering an upgrade or new customers weighing their options, the V5 offers a more compact footprint and lower power consumption, making it ideal for stationary home installation. SpaceX has not disclosed specific pricing or full specifications yet, but early reports highlight a noticeable reduction in size and weight.
