Sir Keir Starmer received a standing ovation from his party and other MPs after delivering his final answer at his last Prime Minister's Questions. In an emotional farewell, Starmer said, "To all those in the gallery, whose lives have been changed or improved by this Labour government, and all across the country who struggle to be seen or heard, you are the reason I came into politics." He then turned to his family: "To my wife and children, I love you. Goodbye." Several MPs stood and applauded as Starmer shook the hand of the Speaker of the House of Commons.
Andy Burnham is set to become Labour leader later this week and is expected to take office as prime minister on 20 July. He will not make his first PMQs appearance until after the summer recess.
