White jeans are emerging as a key style refresh for spring and summer 2026, offering an effortless way to brighten any outfit, according to stylist Liz Teicher.
Teicher explains that white denim provides a fresh alternative to typical jeans-and-top combinations, instantly making looks feel more seasonal. However, she cautions that not all white jeans are created equal.
"One of the biggest mistakes I see is choosing overly stretchy denim," Teicher told E!. "White jeans are best when they have less stretch—styles with 80–90% cotton content hold their shape better and feel more flattering."
For 2026, Teicher emphasizes silhouette as crucial. She recommends '90s-inspired straight-leg and slightly wide-leg cuts as the most modern options, noting that barrel jeans still work when worn in longer, uncropped lengths. Meanwhile, skinny and cropped styles are starting to feel dated.
Perhaps most significantly, Teicher declares the traditional "no white after Labor Day" rule officially outdated.
"White jeans can be worn year-round when styled with seasonal pieces," she said, calling them "one of the most versatile staples in a modern wardrobe."
For styling, Teicher suggests pairing white jeans with linen button-ups, tank tops, or tees as temperatures rise. For cooler days, she recommends layering with cashmere tees and light spring jackets like blazers, suede jackets, barn jackets, or cropped trenches.
When selecting white jeans for warmer weather, Teicher particularly favors wide-leg styles that won't cling to the body and work well with various warm-weather footwear—as long as they're long enough to avoid touching the ground.
