Summer Game Fest Live 2026 delivered a packed showcase of upcoming games, with major reveals and release date shifts driven by the looming launch of Grand Theft Auto VI.
More than a decade later, the team behind N++ is back with a multiplayer sequel
The two-person studio Metanet, known for the brutally hard 2D platformer N++, announced a new sequel titled N Plus Infinity Times Two. This time, the focus is on multiplayer, offering competitive and cooperative play across several modes. The game retains the slick, acrobatic platforming and graphic-design visuals of its predecessors. It is set to launch on PS5, Xbox, Switch 2, and PC in 2027.
Grand Theft Auto VI is warping the video game release calendar
Although absent from the conference, GTA VI’s November launch window has caused publishers to avoid that month. September and October are now packed with major titles including Wolverine (Sept 15), Dune: Awakening (Sept 22), Control Resonant (Sept 24), Silent Hill: Townfall (Sept 24), Onimusha: Way of the Sword (Sept 25), and Ace Combat 8 (Oct 2). Already announced games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 also release in October.
Final Fantasy VII’s remake trilogy will conclude with Revelation
Square Enix revealed Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the third and final entry in the remake trilogy. It launches spring 2027 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. The trailer showed the Highwind airship, an open world, playable Vincent and Cid, and a new armor-based “FITS” system inspired by classic Final Fantasy job systems.
