The cousin of Summer House star West Wilson has been arrested and charged with the murder of their step-grandmother, according to authorities.
Dakota Sweeney, 24, of Carrollton, Missouri, was taken into custody on April 22 — the night before Wilson filmed the reunion for the Bravo reality series. Law enforcement in Carroll County responded to a shooting report at a residence and found 75-year-old Gayle R. Wilson dead from a gunshot wound.
A probable cause statement reveals that a witness told police Sweeney sat silently in the same room as the victim for about 30 minutes before allegedly shooting her with a handgun. The witness also said Sweeney and Wilson had argued earlier that evening over Sweeney not helping with household chores. When officers arrested Sweeney at the scene without incident, they discovered a holster on him.
Sweeney has been charged with first-degree murder. West Wilson’s father, Bruce, and Sweeney’s mother, Kelly, are both stepchildren of Gayle Wilson.
TMZ has reached out to West Wilson for comment but has not yet received a response.
