A massage parlor owner in Taichung's Central District is speaking out after a tense encounter with local police cost her NT$4,000 in lost business.
According to the owner, officers conducting a routine inspection parked their patrol car directly in front of her private parking space, blocking access for customers. When she asked them to move the vehicle, she claims police responded, "We'll move it after your customers arrive."
Infuriated, the owner watched as would-be clients arrived, found no parking, and cancelled their appointments. She estimates the incident caused a loss of over NT$4,000.
The police department later apologized, explaining that the officers did not have the keys to the patrol car at the time and that a misunderstanding likely occurred.
The owner says she hopes the incident will remind officers to be more considerate of small businesses during their patrols.
