Teddi Mellencamp Denied GLP-1s for Weight Loss During Stage 4 Cancer Battle

Teddi Mellencamp, known for her time on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, has revealed that her doctor refused to prescribe GLP-1 medications for weight loss as she continues to fight stage 4 cancer.

During a recent episode of her podcast Two T's in a Pod, co-host Dolores Catania mentioned she was "going full force" on weight loss drugs. Mellencamp responded by sharing that she had asked her own physician about starting them.

"I want to let you know that I asked my cancer doctor," the fitness coach said. "I am a health and wellness coach who's dying of cancer. And because I gained weight from the steroids, because I'm getting bigger from the steroids, I asked my doctor if I could please have GLP-1s."

She added, "And he was like, 'No!'"

Dolores expressed sympathy but suggested Mellencamp might ignore the advice. Mellencamp, 44, who shares three children with ex Edwin Arroyave, joked she could find other ways to obtain the drugs.

"I mean, I know people where I could get it," she explained. "I have friends that do it."

After Dolores jokingly told her to "tell your doctor to shut up," Mellencamp called out conflicting messages from her medical team.

"So rude. Let me live," she exclaimed. "You tell me to live my best life, but I don't even get… Live your best life? Where are my GLP-1s?"

The podcast host added a curse word in frustration.

This revelation comes after Mellencamp recently shared that she has started dating an older man amid her cancer journey. She has not yet discussed how they will handle the more intimate aspects of their relationship.

"These are the things that I haven't brought up on these dates," she explained. "I'm taking it slow with him. Normally that hasn't been my past."

However, she noted that he has been supportive and understanding.

"He's pretty good about it," she acknowledged. "He's a relatively positive and logical person in general. But the thing that I like the most about him is he makes me laugh."
