Teen Prodigy Suryavanshi Blazes to Record-Breaking 15-Ball Fifty in IPL Thriller

Indian Premier League, Guwahati

In a breathtaking display of raw talent, 15-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi etched his name into IPL history with a blistering 15-ball fifty, propelling the Rajasthan Royals to a stunning six-wicket victory over the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Suryavanshi's explosive innings of 78 runs from just 26 deliveries—featuring eight boundaries and seven maximums—demolished RCB's bowling attack and set the foundation for chasing down a formidable target of 202 with two overs to spare.

"It was the joint third-fastest fifty in IPL history, marking the second time this season the teenager has achieved this remarkable feat," noted cricket analysts.

The young sensation dominated from the outset, forming a devastating 108-run partnership with Dhruv Jurel off just 37 balls. Their ruthless powerplay assault saw the Royals race to 97-1, with Suryavanshi reaching his half-century with a towering six.

Despite a mid-innings stumble that saw the Royals slip from 129-1 to 134-4 after Suryavanshi's dismissal, Jurel's composed 81 not out from 43 balls ensured a comfortable finish to the chase.

Suryavanshi's phenomenal form has made him the tournament's leading run-scorer with 200 runs in four innings at an astonishing strike rate of 266.6, despite having yet to earn an international cap for India.

Earlier in the match, RCB posted 201-8 thanks to captain Rajat Patidar's resilient 63 from 40 balls and late cameos from Romario Shepherd (22 from 11) and Venkatesh Iyer (29). The Royals' bowlers, led by Jofra Archer's 2-33 and Ravi Bishnoi's 2-32, had initially restricted RCB to 125-7 before the late surge.

The victory solidifies the Royals' position in the tournament while highlighting the emergence of a genuine cricketing prodigy whose performances are becoming impossible to ignore.
