Former tennis professional Ashley Harkleroad, known for her groundbreaking Playboy feature while still active on the tour, is facing a personal setback as her husband has officially filed for separation.
Court documents reveal that Chuck Adams, also a former tennis pro who later coached Harkleroad, submitted the paperwork on April 14, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split. The couple had been married since September 22, 2009, marking over 16 years together.
According to the legal filing, Adams is seeking joint custody of their two children, aged 17 and 15, with physical custody going to Harkleroad and visitation rights for himself.
The documents also indicate that Adams has requested termination of the court's ability to award spousal support to Harkleroad. Regarding financial matters, Adams stated that the full extent of his assets and debts remains unknown at the time of filing, but he intends to amend the petition once these details are clarified.
Both individuals have notable tennis backgrounds. Adams competed professionally in the 1990s, securing one career singles title with an overall record of 83-93. He later transitioned to coaching Harkleroad, who achieved a career-high ranking of 40 in 2003.
Harkleroad made headlines in August 2008 when she became the first active tennis professional to pose for Playboy. She retired from the sport in 2012 and briefly ventured into content creation on OnlyFans several years ago. This marks her second marriage, following a previous union with fellow tennis pro Alex Bogomolov Jr.
