At TennoCon 2026, Digital Extremes revealed major updates for both Warframe and Soulframe, including the upcoming Warframe: Tau expansion and a new pre-alpha playtest for Soulframe: Preludes.
Warframe: Tau Expansion
Warframe: Tau will take players beyond the Origin System later this year, introducing two new locations—the ring city of Fornax and an undisclosed area—along with a new enemy faction called the Fornax Drowners. The expansion's story centers on Brysko, a noir detective-like Warframe voiced by Matt Mercer. Brysko is a melee-focused character who wields an Exalted magnum revolver named The Corecracker. Creative director Rebecca Ford stated she found "the perfect piece of Warframe mythos" for Mercer to bring to life.
Original Card Game and Cosmetics
Warframe: Tau introduces Portau, a unique card game inspired by poker, playable in Fornax's casino. A new collection of Heirloom gear for Mesa, featuring a cowboy-inspired look, is available now. The August Nightwave event, Amir's Shockwave, will include a new On-Lyne boy band song called "Running Late" and a text-based adventure via the K.I.M. messaging system.
Soulframe Updates
Soulframe: Preludes, a pre-alpha playtest, opens to new players who sign up by July 12 at 11:59 PM EDT. A new boss, the Mendicant Reinbreaker, has been added; defeating it allows players to befriend the boss's horse. The next Fable, Warsongs, introduces a new Pact. Notable voice actors Ben Starr (as Tempest Bayor) and Jennifer English (as the Empress of Eldveil) join the cast. Mounts and fishing will be added to Soulframe.
In-Game Events and Future Dates
Warframe players can participate in a special in-game event at a Relay orbiting Saturn during TennoLive. TennoCon 2027 is scheduled for July 16-17, 2027, in London, Ontario. TennoVIP events will take place in Seoul, Xi'an, London, and Glasgow this fall.
