Electronic music pioneers The Prodigy have released a raw, acid-infused remix of Sleaford Mods' track 'Elitest G.O.A.T.,' marking a powerful collaboration between two boundary-pushing acts.
Dubbed the 'Acid Thunder Remix,' the track transforms the original from Sleaford Mods' latest album 'The Demise Of Planet X' into what The Prodigy's Liam Howlett describes as a "dirty, acid 303" reimagining. The remix blends The Prodigy's signature electronic intensity with Sleaford Mods' distinctive post-punk energy.
"Who could ask for more? A Prodigy Remix for 'Elitest G.O.A.T' that turns it into another tune entirely," exclaimed Sleaford Mods frontman Jason Williamson. "I can't believe it. Added to that is 'Extnddntwrk's under the sensor shift as well. Fuckin' yes!"
This isn't the first time the artists have crossed paths. Over a decade ago, Williamson appeared in the music video for The Prodigy's song 'Ibiza,' establishing an early creative connection between the acts.
The remix will be available on two limited-edition seven-inch singles starting June 26, with pre-orders currently open. Alongside The Prodigy's version, Sleaford Mods' Andrew Fearn has also reworked the track under his Extnddntwrk alias, offering fans multiple interpretations of the original composition.
