Josh Sanders, the runner-up on season 25 of The Voice, is now locked in a heated custody battle with his estranged wife, Kendra. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the couple separated in January and have been fighting over their three children ever since.
In his filings, Josh claims that Kendra is trying to alienate the kids from him and is preventing him from co-parenting. He also alleges that one of their children has expressed a desire to live with him.
Kendra, however, paints a very different picture. She accuses Josh of being an “active alcoholic” who “drank away” his career opportunities after his success on The Voice. She further claims that he has driven drunk with the children in the car and has been violent in front of them. She is seeking supervised visitation for Josh and primary custody for herself, arguing that she can provide a “stable, loving, alcohol-free home.”
The situation has escalated to legal authorities. Arrest records show that Josh was arrested in April for violating a domestic violence temporary restraining order. Just this month, Josh filed a trespassing complaint against Kendra. The details of the restraining order remain unclear, but Josh claims it stems from the custody dispute.
The case continues to develop as both sides present their claims in court.
