Three British Nationals Face Arson Charges After Attack on Persian Media Outlet in London

Three individuals have been formally charged in connection with an attempted arson attack targeting a Persian-language media organization's offices in northwest London.

According to authorities, an ignited container was hurled toward the Volant Media building in Park Royal around 8:30 PM BST on Wednesday. The device landed in a nearby car park, where the fire extinguished quickly without causing significant damage or injuries.

The Metropolitan Police identified the accused as Oisin McGuinness, 21, and Nathan Dunn, 19, both from Watford, along with a 16-year-old male from north London. All three British nationals have been charged with arson with intent to endanger life. McGuinness faces an additional charge of dangerous driving.

"The three males are due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court," confirmed police officials.

As a precautionary measure, two adjacent buildings were temporarily evacuated but were reopened after authorities determined there was no broader threat to public safety.

In a related development, police pursued a black SUV following the incident, which ultimately crashed on Ballards Lane in Finchley.

This attack on Volant Media, the parent company of Iran International, a Persian news channel, occurs amid a concerning pattern of similar incidents in the London area. Earlier on Wednesday, a separate arrest was made after two bottles believed to contain petrol were thrown at Finchley Reform Synagogue. Additionally, earlier this month, three people were charged following arson attacks on four Jewish charity-owned ambulances in north London, with five others arrested in connection with that case.
