Timberwolves Stifle Nuggets, Take Control of Series

The Minnesota Timberwolves delivered a dominant defensive performance to shut down the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday, seizing a pivotal advantage in their NBA playoff series. Anthony Edwards led the charge with 29 points, while Rudy Gobert anchored the defense with 14 rebounds and four blocks, as the Timberwolves cruised to a 112-88 victory.

From the opening tip, Minnesota’s intensity set the tone. They held the Nuggets to just 38% shooting from the field and forced 15 turnovers, turning defense into quick transition buckets. Jamal Murray led Denver with 22 points, but the reigning MVP Nikola Jokić was limited to 18 points and only five assists, well below his usual production.

“We just wanted to make everything tough for them,” said Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch. “Our guys bought into the game plan and executed perfectly.”

The Timberwolves now hold a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven series, with Game 6 set for Friday in Denver. If Minnesota can replicate their defensive pressure, they have a real chance to close out the series on the road.
