TMZ Launches Washington D.C. Bureau, Deploys Team to Cover Politics and Pop Culture Intersection

TMZ has officially launched its Washington D.C. bureau, with three producers now stationed in the nation's capital and ready to cover the intersection of politics and pop culture.

Charlie Cotton, Jacob Wasserman, and Jakson Buhaj arrived over the weekend and were set to begin work today as members of Congress returned from their two-week spring break. However, the House of Representatives has delayed its return until Tuesday, giving the new TMZDC team extra time to settle in before lawmakers resume business.

"We're in D.C. ... on the hunt for good stories," the TMZ staff announced. "We're also going to explore the intersection between pop culture and politics. We have a lot in store in that department!"

The team plans to produce an end-of-day show available on YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, where they'll share their daily discoveries from a $350 card table—their makeshift office setup in the capital.

Lawmakers and staffers in Washington should expect to see the three producers around Capitol Hill. The TMZ announcement described them as "nice enough guys, generally smart and sometimes even charming."

This expansion marks TMZ's first dedicated presence in Washington D.C., positioning the celebrity news outlet to cover political figures with the same scrutiny it applies to Hollywood stars.
