TNT Bolsters Semifinal Lineup with Malick Diouf for Game 3 Against Meralco

TNT Tropang Giga will receive a significant boost in their PBA semifinal series against Meralco as rookie Malick Diouf is set to make his debut in Game 3. The 6-foot-9 forward, who was selected third overall in the recent PBA draft, will suit up for TNT after clearing the necessary paperwork and completing his quarantine requirements.

Diouf, a Senegalese-Filipino standout from the University of the Philippines, is expected to provide size and athleticism in the frontcourt. His addition comes at a crucial time as the Tropang Giga look to regain momentum against a tough Meralco squad. The series is tied at 1-1 after TNT won Game 1 before Meralco bounced back in Game 2.

TNT head coach Chot Reyes expressed excitement about Diouf's availability, noting that his versatility will be key. "Malick gives us another big body who can defend multiple positions and rebound. He's also capable of stretching the floor, which opens up our offense," Reyes said.

Diouf last played for the UP Fighting Maroons in the UAAP, where he averaged a double-double and was named to the Mythical Team. He also represented the Philippines in the FIBA 3x3 World Cup.

Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. A win for TNT would give them a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.
