Tori Spelling has broken her silence about a terrifying car accident that sent her and four of her children to the hospital just days before Easter. The actress shared a heartfelt update via Instagram, expressing gratitude that the situation wasn't more severe.
“We’re okay, but it’s been really overwhelming,” Spelling said in an emotional video posted on April 7. “We are so grateful and so lucky because it could have been so much worse.”
The crash occurred in Temecula, California, on April 2. According to Spelling, the other driver was allegedly speeding at an extreme rate. She described the moment of impact, recalling how she saw the vehicle approaching at full speed toward the side of her car.
“I turned hard left as hard as I could, as fast as I could to avoid as much impact on the children as possible,” she explained. “He spun us out.”
Spelling, who shares five children with ex-husband Dean McDermott, noted that four of their kids—Liam (19), Stella (17), Hattie (14), and Finn (13)—were in the vehicle at the time of the accident, along with three of their friends. All were evaluated at the scene by first responders before being transported to the hospital for further assessment.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that deputies responded to a two-vehicle collision in Temecula. While no arrests were made immediately following the incident, authorities have stated that the investigation remains ongoing.
In her message, Spelling extended thanks to the emergency personnel who assisted her family and friends, as well as to supporters who have reached out during this difficult time.
“I'm grateful to everyone who has reached out and repeatedly checked on us,” she said, “and offered to do whatever we needed to get us through this and all the blessings everyone has sent.”
The actress concluded by reflecting on the close call, attributing their safety to what she described as the presence of guardian angels during those critical seconds.
