Olympic sprinters Noah Lyles and Junelle Bromfield have officially crossed the finish line into married life. The couple exchanged vows in a vibrant "All Shades of Melanin" themed ceremony in Trenton, Georgia on April 4th, sharing exclusive details with Vogue.
"It was definitely a ceremony of unity," Bromfield told the publication. "It was just amazing to see the different cultures mesh into one. Everybody was having fun, interacting, and filled with love."
The wedding marks a joyous milestone nearly two years after Lyles, a six-time World Champion and Olympic gold medalist, proposed in a grand, romantic gesture. He led Bromfield to a display of candles and sparklers forming a rose-covered heart, complete with a neon sign asking, "Will you marry me?" Dressed in a custom black suit with a gold racing stripe, he got down on one knee. Bromfield, of course, said yes.
Their journey to the altar began unconventionally. The pair first connected in 2017 after Bromfield reached out to Lyles on social media, but romance didn't spark immediately.
"I'm very defensive," Lyles admitted on the Fast Lane Lifestyle podcast in 2024, recalling his initial caution as a rising track star. "I'm young to the scene... I just can't be giving my number out to nobody."
However, persistence paid off. After reconnecting in early 2022 following other relationships, they had a fateful first date in New York City. A simple act—Lyles standing in the rain to open her car door—convinced Bromfield he was the one.
"At that moment I knew that I wanted him to be my boyfriend," she recalled.
They made their relationship official seven months later and have since profoundly influenced each other's lives. Bromfield credits Lyles with inspiring her to begin therapy, while she has taught the famously driven athlete the value of patience and taking a step back during disagreements.
Celebrity friends, including actor Terry Crews and fellow Olympian Fredrick Richard, flooded social media with congratulations following the engagement news. Now, after their "magical" Georgia wedding, these two champions are starting their greatest race yet: marriage.
