As the Michigan Wolverines prepare for their Final Four showdown against Arizona, former star Trey Burke has shared crucial advice with the current squad. The Wolverines are aiming to return to the championship game for the first time since their 2018 loss to Villanova, and Burke's message centers on mental focus.
"Staying in the moment," Burke emphasized. "It's easy to think about what could happen, win or lose, you know, get caught up just in the festivities and just realizing you're actually here."
He added, "I think the biggest thing is staying in the moment, really enjoying the moment and getting lost in the game. It is one of those games that you can't really go back in time and redo."
Burke revealed he was among those who believed this Michigan team had championship potential early in the season, but now only one outcome matters. "You can have a great year and get all the way to that game and lose, and still come up short. So, I'm rooting those guys on. They've all had a great year, I'm excited like I'm playing."
While Burke naturally supports his alma mater, he remained diplomatic about predicting Monday night's potential championship opponent, choosing to focus instead on the immediate challenge facing the Wolverines.
