President Donald Trump revealed that he pressed Russian President Vladimir Putin to conclude the war in Ukraine, while rejecting a Kremlin proposal to assist with securing Iran's nuclear material.
In a phone call between the two leaders, Trump suggested implementing "a little bit of a ceasefire" to halt the ongoing conflict. Meanwhile, Putin proposed a temporary truce to coincide with the annual celebration of the World War II victory over Nazi Germany, according to the Kremlin.
The conversation primarily centered on Iran, with Russia offering proposals to help resolve the standoff over Tehran's nuclear program, said Kremlin foreign policy aide Yuri Ushakov.
