Trump's Truth Social Tirade Targets Pope Leo Over Crime, Iran War, and Venezuela Capture

Former President Donald Trump launched a blistering attack on Pope Leo XIV via Truth Social late Sunday, condemning the pontiff's stance on crime, foreign policy, and his recent criticisms of Trump's actions in Iran and Venezuela.

Trump's lengthy post began with a direct accusation, labeling Pope Leo as "WEAK on Crime" and "terrible for Foreign Policy." The former president's ire was particularly focused on the pope's recent remarks about the U.S.-Israel military campaign against Iran, which Leo suggested stemmed from a "delusion of omnipotence."

"Trump is furious that the pope criticized his decision to 'bomb the hell out of Iran' alongside Israel, sparking a full-scale conflict between the two nations," the post detailed.

In a surprising personal jab, Trump claimed to prefer Pope Leo's brother, Louis, who resides in Florida and shares Trump's MAGA-aligned, right-wing social media presence. "I like Louis much better than I like [Leo], because Louis is all MAGA," Trump wrote.

The tirade also addressed Pope Leo's disapproval of Trump's order to capture Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro during a U.S. military operation. Maduro is currently detained in the United States, facing trial for alleged drug trafficking and other federal charges.

Trump concluded his message by suggesting Pope Leo should be "thankful" for his position, implying it was orchestrated to handle Trump from a liberal perspective. He urged the pontiff to "get his act together" and cease appealing to the "Radical Left," warning that such alignment is damaging both to Leo personally and to the Catholic Church at large.
