South African amapiano star Tyla has announced her sophomore studio album, 'A*POP', set for release on July 24 via Since '93 / RCA UK. The follow-up to her 2024 debut—which made her the highest-charting African female solo artist in U.S. album chart history—was described by the Grammy winner as "something really fresh."
"I just knew that as I lived through the making of the album, it was going to fall into place, which it did," Tyla said at the Grammys in February. "I feel like I just did something really fresh and so… Tyla."
The album will include her 2025 singles 'Is It' and 'Chanel', as well as the recently released 'She Did It Again', featuring Zara Larsson. Pre-orders and pre-saves are available now.
In a trailer for the project, Tyla speaks about the "unapologetic", "confident", and "global" outlook she is embracing in this new chapter of her career. The cover art for 'A*POP' was also revealed alongside the announcement.
Tyla's debut album, released in 2024, catapulted her to international fame following the global smash hit 'Water' in 2023. With 'A*POP', she aims to build on that momentum while exploring fresh sonic territory.
