De La Salle University and the University of Santo Tomas clinched the men's and women's titles, respectively, in the UAAP Season 88 3x3 basketball tournament held over the weekend.
In the men's division, La Salle defeated Ateneo de Manila University in a thrilling final, 21-19, to claim the championship. The Green Archers showcased their sharpshooting and defensive grit throughout the tournament, capping an undefeated run with the title.
On the women's side, UST dominated the tournament, beating National University in the final, 18-12. The Tigresses displayed cohesive teamwork and relentless energy, securing their first 3x3 crown in recent years.
Both champions received gold medals and the UAAP trophy, while runners-up Ateneo and NU settled for silver. The 3x3 format, which emphasizes fast-paced action and individual skill, has grown in popularity within the UAAP, and this season's edition did not disappoint.
