Mauricio Ruffy had a night to remember at the White House on Sunday. After delivering a brutal KO of Michael Chandler at UFC Freedom 250, the Brazilian fighter dropped to one knee and proposed to his girlfriend, Nadine, right in the Octagon.
"What better place to ask my wife to get married?" Ruffy's translator announced to the crowd. "Nadine, I love you. Would you marry me, since we're right here at the White House?"
Nadine gave a thumbs up, as commentator Joe Rogan noted. The proposal came moments after Ruffy dominated Chandler, landing multiple heavy shots before referee Mike Beltran stopped the contest with 31 seconds left in the first round.
Ruffy, who may have already referred to Nadine as his wife, seemed overjoyed after the biggest win of his career. The night's event has been electric so far, with all three fights ending by knockout in the first or second round.
