Tragedy struck in London's SoHo district early Sunday, April 19, when popular influencer Klaudia Glam was fatally struck by a car driven by Gabrielle Carrington, a former contestant on the UK's "X-Factor."
Glam, whose real name was Klaudia Zakrzewska, was hit near a nightclub and rushed to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead on Saturday, according to the London Metropolitan Police. A 58-year-old man also suffered what authorities described as "life-changing injuries" in the incident.
Carrington, 29, from Manchester, was arrested the day after the crash and initially charged with attempted murder, grievous bodily harm with intent, actual bodily harm, dangerous driving, and drink driving. Following Glam's death, the attempted murder charge is expected to be upgraded to murder.
Carrington was a member of the group Miss Dynamix during their 2013 appearance on "X-Factor." She has not yet entered a plea.
Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell expressed deep sympathies to Glam's family and friends, adding, "Our thoughts are also with everyone impacted by this incident."
Glam was 32 years old.
