Ukraine Warns of Potential Threat from Belarus Amid Ongoing Russian Attacks

Ukraine is closely monitoring military activities along its border with Belarus, as Russian strikes continue to target critical infrastructure across the country. Kyiv has imposed sanctions on Belarus, accusing it of complicity in Moscow's invasion and warning that it is prepared to respond to any escalation from its northern neighbor.

The Ukrainian government stated that any movement of Belarusian troops or equipment near the border would be viewed as a direct threat. Belarus, a key ally of Russia, has allowed Russian forces to use its territory since the start of the full-scale war in February 2022.

Meanwhile, Russian missile and drone attacks have persisted, striking energy facilities and residential areas in multiple regions. Ukrainian air defense systems have intercepted a significant number of incoming projectiles, but officials report damage to power grids and civilian infrastructure.

Kyiv has called on international partners to provide additional air defense systems and to tighten sanctions against both Russia and Belarus. The situation remains tense, with no signs of de-escalation along the Belarusian frontier.
