A United Nations panel has issued a stark condemnation of recent attacks on shelters housing displaced Palestinians in Gaza and the forced displacement of communities in the West Bank, detailing a pattern of violence attributed to Israeli forces and settlers.
In a new report, the experts outlined specific incidents where displaced individuals in Gaza seeking refuge in designated shelters faced military assaults. Simultaneously, the document details systematic pressure and violent actions in the West Bank aimed at forcing Palestinian families from their homes and land.
"The targeting of civilian shelters and the coercive tactics used to displace communities are clear violations of international law," the panel stated in its findings. "These actions exacerbate an already severe humanitarian crisis and undermine any prospect for a peaceful resolution."
The report calls for immediate international intervention to protect civilians and uphold legal obligations, warning that the current trajectory risks further destabilizing the region.
