The University of Regina's Open Education Program recently hosted a bootcamp session titled "Creative Commons Licensing," presented by Christina Winters, Copyright and Scholarly Communications Librarian. The workshop aimed to equip participants with a practical understanding of Creative Commons (CC) licenses, focusing on how to apply them when creating and sharing educational resources, as well as how to find and use existing CC-licensed materials.
Key learning objectives included:
- Understanding the types of CC licenses and their permissions.
- Strategies for locating resources published under CC licenses.
- Considerations for integrating CC-licensed content into new educational materials.
The session is part of a broader initiative to promote open education practices at the university, emphasizing legal and ethical sharing of knowledge.
