Over a decade since the final episode of Gossip Girl aired, two of its beloved stars have reunited, sending fans into a nostalgic frenzy.
Leighton Meester, who played the iconic Blair Waldorf, and Chace Crawford, known for his role as the charming Nate Archibald, were spotted together at the Falconeri Dinner held at the Getty House in Los Angeles on April 23. The pair, both 40, posed for photos by the pool, looking as close as ever.
For the occasion, Meester donned a chic black knit top paired with a matching satin maxi skirt and heels, while Crawford opted for a taupe sweater under a gray jacket, with light-colored trousers and sneakers. Crawford brought his girlfriend, model Kelsey Merritt, as his date, and the trio smiled for pictures together.
Their reunion comes nearly 14 years after Gossip Girl—which also starred Blake Lively, Penn Badgley, and Ed Westwick—ended its six-season run in December 2012. Though their characters' romance fizzled early in the series, with Blair famously ending up with Chuck Bass, the real-life friendship between Meester and Crawford has clearly endured.
In a recent episode of Penn Badgley's podcast Podcrushed, both he and Meester reflected on their characters' fates. "I think he ended up with who he meant to end up with," Badgley said of Dan Humphrey marrying Serena van der Woodsen. "And Blair ended up with Chuck. I think they ended up with who they were meant to be with." Meester agreed, saying, "I think you're right."
Fans of the hit CW drama can take comfort in knowing that while Blair and Nate didn't make it, the actors who brought them to life remain good friends—and still know how to make an entrance.
