Explosions have been reported in multiple regions, including northwestern Iran's Tabriz, the capital city Tehran, and southern Iran.

The strikes are designed to continue degrading Iran's ability to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz,
according to US Central Command (CENTCOM). The strikes, which began at 7 pm Eastern Time (2300 GMT) on Tuesday, are part of a broader effort to assert control over the vital waterway in the Gulf.
Regional Implications
The conflict has significant implications for the region, with Iran competing with the US for control of the Strait of Hormuz. The breakdown of a June 17 memorandum of understanding between the two sides has led to a resurgence in attacks, with Iran targeting Gulf countries including Kuwait, Bahrain, and Qatar.

Residents in northeastern Tehran have reported hearing air defence activity, while several explosions have also been heard around Sirik in southern Iran. The Fars news agency and Iran's Tasnim news agency have also reported explosions in parts of Bushehr and Tabriz.
