VA Inspector General: Your Guide to Reporting Fraud, Waste, and Abuse

The Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Inspector General (VA OIG) is an independent oversight body that investigates allegations of fraud, waste, abuse, and mismanagement within VA programs and operations. Reports can be submitted anonymously through three channels: online at va.gov/oig, by phone at 1-800-488-8244, or via mail. The OIG also provides whistleblower protections for VA employees who report misconduct. Once a report is filed, the OIG reviews it and may initiate an investigation, audit, or referral to law enforcement.
