Venbee is back with her new single ‘Not My Day’, an observational track that has already won over Lewis Capaldi.
The Kent singer and producer, who broke through in 2022 with the Top Three hit ‘Messy In Heaven’, released the song alongside a music video directed by Dante Richardson. The track documents the mundane frustrations of everyday life, from forgetting a pound for a trolley at Asda to having her card declined at the checkout.
Venbee, whose real name is Erin Doyle, spoke exclusively to NME about the track: “After being dropped by my label, I no longer felt the pressure of writing to please other people. So I started making music that felt carefree, fun and more like me.”
The song features a name-check of Lewis Capaldi, who showed his approval by posting a TikTok video of himself dancing to the track. ‘Not My Day’ follows Venbee’s 2023 mixtape ‘Zero Experience’ and marks a new chapter for the former NME 100 artist.
