Former boxing champion Victor Ortiz is set to make his Bare Knuckle Boxing debut next month and has his sights set on two of the biggest names in the sport. In an exclusive interview, Ortiz called out Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford, expressing his desire to face them in the ring after his upcoming bout.
Ortiz, 39, will fight Dominic Salcido on July 18 at the Novo in Los Angeles. He explained that after prayer, a three-week fast, and careful consideration, he felt confident about joining the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. Ortiz emphasized that this isn't a comeback—he never left combat sports. However, he believes boxing has changed, with too much focus on protecting undefeated records rather than giving fans the fights they want to see.
