A disturbing video circulating online appears to show two NYPD officers beating and wrongfully arresting a man in Brooklyn. The victim, identified as Timothy Brown, has reportedly filed a $100 million lawsuit against the city.
The footage, which has drawn widespread outrage, captures the officers using force against Brown, who claims he was assaulted without provocation. Brown alleges that one officer broke his arm during the incident, and that he was denied medical care for eight days despite a humerus fracture.
In a statement accompanying the video, Brown detailed a history of injuries and medical issues, including a prior back fusion and abdominal tumor. He also claims that his bipolar disorder and electromagnetic sensitivity have been exacerbated by the incident, leaving him unable to work in environments with Wi-Fi or cell phones.
Brown launched a GoFundMe campaign to support his recovery and legal efforts. The NYPD has not yet released an official response to the allegations.
