VSCO is taking on Adobe with the launch of Studio Pro, a new mobile photo editing app designed for professional photographers. The app is available today on iOS and will come to macOS later this year, as reported by Bloomberg.
Studio Pro offers tools for batch editing, style matching from a reference image, and sharing images through VSCO Galleries. The company plans to expand features over time.
Alongside the app, VSCO announced VSCO One, a subscription bundle priced at $500 per year that aims to handle a professional photographer's entire workflow—from editing to delivery. The bundle includes Studio Pro, VSCO's existing editing tools, and additional cloud storage and client management features.
"We're building a platform that supports the complete creative process," said a VSCO spokesperson. "Professionals need more than just filters; they need a streamlined business solution."
The move positions VSCO as a direct competitor to Adobe's Lightroom and Photoshop ecosystems, which dominate the professional market. With the rise of mobile photography, VSCO is betting on a more integrated, app-first approach.
