Wales' World Cup Qualifying Campaign Hit by Key Player Absences

Wales' preparations for their crucial Women's World Cup qualifying matches against Albania have been disrupted by the withdrawal of two key players from the squad.

Midfielder Ceri Holland and defender Lois Joel have both been ruled out due to injury, dealing a significant blow to manager Rhian Wilkinson's plans. Holland, a versatile 28-year-old with 52 international caps, is considered one of Wales' most important players and was absent from Liverpool's Women's FA Cup quarter-final victory over Charlton on Sunday.

In response to the absences, Wilkinson has called up forward Olivia Francis to bolster the squad ahead of the critical double-header.

Wales will host Albania at Stok Cae Ras in Wrexham on Tuesday, 14 April (19:15 BST) before traveling to face the same opponents at the Elbasan Arena in Elbasan four days later (17:00 BST).
