Mentalist Oz Pearlman, who was hosting the White House Correspondents' Dinner, has opened up about the terrifying moments when gunfire erupted at the event. In an interview with CNN, Pearlman described how a routine magic trick suddenly turned into a nightmare.
"I thought maybe it was a medical emergency," he said, recalling the initial confusion. But when the sounds of what he believed were gunshots rang out, his fear escalated. "I thought there was about to be a bomb," he admitted.
Pearlman watched as guests scrambled for cover, diving under tables. He himself hit the floor, his mind racing with the possibility that he and others might not survive. The incident unfolded in the hotel lobby while President Trump and many top administration officials were seated nearby.
Despite the chaos, Pearlman managed to maintain his composure, but the experience left him shaken. "I really thought we were going to die," he confessed.
