Leaked images of the upcoming Xbox Elite 3 controller have surfaced, revealing a design overhaul that includes several mysterious new buttons. The images, which were shared online by an anonymous source, show the controller with additional input options on the rear and front face.

According to the leak, the Elite 3 features two extra buttons on the back, positioned near the existing paddle slots, as well as a new button on the top edge near the sync button. The function of these buttons remains unclear, but speculation suggests they could be programmable shortcuts or a new way to capture and share clips.

Other notable changes include a revised D-pad that appears to be more modular, and textured grips on the handles for improved comfort during long gaming sessions. The controller also seems to have a slightly different shape, with a more pronounced curvature.

Microsoft has not officially commented on the leak, but the company has a history of iterating on its high-end Elite line. The Elite 2 launched in 2019, so an update would be timely.
