The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has again raised a yellow alert for the Visayas power grid, signaling a potential supply shortfall. The alert, which took effect on Tuesday afternoon, indicates that power reserves have fallen below the required margin.
NGCP attributed the warning to a combination of forced outages and reduced capacity from several power plants. The grid operator urged consumers to conserve electricity to prevent further deterioration of the situation.
This marks the second yellow alert in the region this month, raising concerns about the stability of the power supply as demand continues to outpace generation capacity.
