Singer Amerie's financial details have come to light amid her contentious divorce from ex-husband Lenny Nicholson, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.
The divorce judgment reveals that the couple owned no real estate or joint bank accounts. Amerie retained ownership of her music businesses—Amerie Inc., Cer One Touring, and Mi Suk Publishing—along with a 2016 Range Rover. The judge also ordered Nicholson to return Amerie's TV tracks and an external hard drive containing her music files, which he had been holding.
Lenny Nicholson was ordered to pay $2,298 per month in child support. Amerie received primary physical custody of their son, while Nicholson was granted parenting time every third weekend.
Amerie, best known for her hit "1 Thing," filed for divorce citing the marriage was "irretrievably broken," with separation dating from April 2024 after tying the knot on June 25, 2011. The couple has one child together.
In his response, Nicholson claimed he served as Amerie's manager, tour producer, performance director, and business strategist for over two decades. He alleged he was never fully compensated for his work during the marriage, including a share of her music royalties, merchandise, and book publishing income.
Nicholson further accused Amerie of abandoning the marital home in April 2024 while he was recovering from surgery, leaving him to cover $44,000 in rent and other expenses. He also claimed she spent $20,000 on cosmetic surgery and took luxury trips to Mexico and Jamaica. He alleged she resumed her music career without crediting his 18-week marketing plan.
The ex-husband sought $1.75 million in unpaid commissions, $150,000 for emotional distress, and spousal support. However, the court determined Amerie's estimated monthly income at $5,735, while Nicholson's was listed at $10,000 per month.
Amerie first disclosed the split publicly during an interview in June 2025.
