Felix Rosenqvist won the closest Indianapolis 500 ever, beating David Malukas by just two-hundredths of a second. In an exclusive interview with TMZ Sports, the 34-year-old champion revealed there's no bad blood between them.
"No [bad blood], we had a great chat at the red carpet, at the banquet, and we hugged it out. I could tell he was happy for me," Rosenqvist said.
Reflecting on the dramatic finish, Rosenqvist added, "I've been in his shoes, as well. When you're so close. It was really cool to see all the drivers congratulating me, and I felt like a lot of them were truly happy for me, so we'll see it as a win for the sport with a finish we were able to produce."
The final lap was a nail-biter: Malukas led heading into the last corner, with Rosenqvist and his Meyer Shank Racing teammate Marcus Armstrong close behind. Rosenqvist overtook Armstrong and then edged Malukas at the line, securing his first Indy 500 victory in the race's tightest finish ever.
