In a heartwarming twist ahead of the 2026 London Marathon, BBC Sport's Gabby Logan sat down for an exclusive interview with a very special runner: Daddy Pig, the beloved father from the hit children's series Peppa Pig.
Daddy Pig is preparing to run the iconic 26.2-mile course to raise funds for the National Deaf Children's Society. Logan, a seasoned sports broadcaster, managed to get the usually busy pig to share his training secrets and motivations.
"It's a big challenge, but I'm doing it for a great cause," Daddy Pig said in the interview. "I've been practicing my snorting and my huffing and puffing—but mostly my snorting."
The interview, which aired on BBC Sport, shows a lighter side of marathon preparation. Daddy Pig revealed that his training includes plenty of "jumping in muddy puddles" for cardio and a strict diet of "spaghetti and ice cream."
Proceeds from his marathon run will support the National Deaf Children's Society, a charity that provides vital services to deaf children and their families across the UK.
"We're thrilled that Daddy Pig is supporting us," said a spokesperson for the charity. "His involvement will bring much-needed attention to the challenges faced by deaf children."
The London Marathon is scheduled for April 2026, and Daddy Pig joins thousands of other runners in what is expected to be a record-breaking year for charity fundraising.
