Ex-Employee Accuses MrBeast's Company of Fostering Sexist Workplace, Files Wrongful Termination Suit

A former employee of YouTube sensation MrBeast's company has filed a lawsuit alleging wrongful termination and a toxic, sexist work environment, claims the company vehemently denies.

Lorrayne Mavromatis, who says she was hired by Beast Industries in 2022, is suing the content creator's company for wrongful termination and intentional infliction of emotional distress, according to court documents obtained by Bloomberg. The suit claims she was fired shortly after returning from maternity leave.

"Mavromatis claims the company expected her to work through her parental leave and even felt pressured to join a call from the delivery room," the lawsuit states.

The company has strongly denied she was pressured to work while on leave.

Alleged internal messages reveal the tense dynamics. In one Slack exchange from March 31, 2025, a coworker wrote to Mavromatis about rescheduling a meeting. She responded, "Hey Frank, I'll need to cancel and postpone. I'm actually in labor at the hospital as we speak." Her coworker replied, "You shouldn't even be checking Slack now LOL. Sending a big hug and lots of success!"

In another message dated May 15, 2025, while supposedly on leave, Mavromatis wrote about joining a business trip to Brazil: "Despite being on maternity leave, I feel like it would be extremely valuable to go with you to make sure everything works out smoothly... Would there be a seat available on the jet for me?"

The lawsuit further alleges Mavromatis informed her manager of her pregnancy and need for leave, but faced retaliation. A representative for MrBeast's company called the allegations "baseless" and stated they would vigorously defend against the claims in court.
