Firework Strikes Delta Plane During July 4 Landing at Chicago Midway

A Delta Air Lines flight experienced a startling encounter with a firework while approaching Chicago's Midway Airport on Independence Day. The Airbus A319 was at an altitude of approximately 200 feet when the pyrotechnic struck the aircraft around 8:40 PM local time. Pilots immediately alerted air traffic control, reporting that they "felt a big bang." Despite the impact, the crew safely landed the plane without further incident.
