Ride-hailing giant Grab has announced a PHP 350 million assistance program aimed at mitigating the impact of rising fuel costs on its drivers and passengers. The initiative includes fuel subsidies, discounted maintenance services, and lower commission fees for partner drivers.
"We understand the burden that higher fuel prices place on our drivers and riders. This program is designed to provide immediate relief while maintaining affordable fares for passengers," a Grab spokesperson said.
Fuel subsidies will be distributed based on driver activity and tenure, while partner workshops will offer discounted vehicle services. Additionally, Grab will temporarily reduce its commission rate for select driver groups, allowing them to retain more earnings.
The program is expected to benefit over 100,000 drivers across the Philippines. This marks Grab's largest single investment in driver welfare, reflecting the company's commitment to supporting its community during economic challenges.
