In a poignant revelation, the director of an upcoming Netflix documentary series has disclosed that wrestling legend Hulk Hogan personally arranged a surprise interview with former President Donald Trump just months before Hogan's death.
Bryan Storkel, director of the four-part series "Hulk Hogan: Real American" premiering next week, told TMZ Sports that Hogan leveraged his friendship with Trump to secure the presidential sit-down. "There's a nice little surprise interview with Donald Trump, which Hulk helped me set up," Storkel said. "We went to the White House and interviewed Trump and he talked all about Hulk Hogan."
Storkel described the process as requiring multiple calls from Hogan to convince the busy former president. "It was wild," Storkel recalled, noting that Trump eventually agreed to the interview scheduled for spring.
In a bittersweet twist, Hogan was unable to accompany the film crew to the White House due to a scheduled surgery. "Hulk was supposed to go with us, but he ended up going in for a surgery right before that," Storkel explained.
The director shared a particularly emotional memory from that day: "I'm there on the phone with Hulk Hogan outside the Oval Office, and he was so excited we got the interview. That's the last phone call I had with him, actually."
Hulk Hogan passed away in July 2025 at age 71, making this final professional collaboration with Trump one of his last significant contributions to the documentary project. The interview will feature in the Netflix series exploring Hogan's life and career, offering viewers a unique perspective from one of the wrestler's most famous friends and admirers.
