Clive Davis, the iconic music executive behind some of the biggest names in the industry, has been hospitalized in New York City. According to a spokesperson for Davis, he was admitted Friday evening after developing an upper respiratory infection. As a precaution, doctors decided to keep him under observation.
Davis's representative expects him to be discharged within 24 hours. The 93-year-old mogul has faced health challenges before, including a bout with Bell's palsy in 2021.
For those unfamiliar, Davis is a titan of the music world. He discovered Whitney Houston, worked with Aretha Franklin, and guided Kelly Clarkson's early career. He also co-founded Bad Boy Records with Sean "Diddy" Combs. In 2000, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a non-performer, and the 200-seat theater at the Grammy Museum bears his name.
Fans and colleagues alike are wishing him a speedy recovery.
