Matthew Perry's Stepfather Shows Compassion as 'Ketamine Queen' Receives 15-Year Sentence

Keith Morrison, stepfather of the late actor Matthew Perry, delivered a measured victim impact statement during the sentencing of Jasveen Sangha, known as the "Ketamine Queen," who received 15 years in prison for supplying drugs to the Friends star.

Morrison, a veteran Dateline correspondent, addressed Sangha directly in court on April 8. "I feel bad for you," he said. "I don't hate you, I'm not angry at you. You're a drug dealer. The fact is you supplied an addict."

He then turned his focus to honoring Perry's memory and potential. "There was a spark to that man that I've never seen anywhere else... he was one of a kind," Morrison reflected. "He should have had another act. Two more acts."

Sangha, 42, expressed remorse during her own statement, acknowledging her "poor decisions" and stating, "I pray for forgiveness every day. Thank you for giving me the harshest reality check of my life. Thank you for taking me out of the equation."

Following the sentencing, Morrison spoke outside the courthouse, calling the 15-year sentence "very fair" while expressing sympathy for all affected. "We miss Matthew dreadfully, of course, and I feel bad for the family of the perpetrator here as well," he said. "Nobody won today."

Despite the gravity of the situation, Morrison noted Sangha's evident remorse. "She is clearly human," he observed. "She is now facing her sentence, and I think she'll do fine in prison."

Perry died in 2023 at age 54. Morrison married Perry's mother, Suzanne, in 1981.
